Tasting Notes
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2022 Cantelys springs from the glass with bright notes of crushed blackberries, Morello cherries and black raspberries with underlying hints of cedar, pencil shavings and wild sage. The medium to full-bodied palate is lively and fresh with grainy tannins to support, finishing with a skip in its step.

Juicy and flavorful with ripe berries, orange peel and light chocolate. Some stone. Medium body. Focused. Refined. 55% merlot, 42% cabernet sauvignon and 3% cabernet franc.
Offering up attractive aromas blackberries, petals and pencil shavings, the 2022 Cantelys is medium to full-bodied, bright and fleshy, with a vibrant core of fruit, powdery tannins and a penetrating finish. It's a blend of 53% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. This is the best Cantelys I've ever tasted.
No longer being made by the Cathiards as of this vintage, as it has been taken over by Grands Chais de France, but still carries the benefits of their investment in the vineyard, and this is great quality, with powerful black fruits, concentrated without being drying, coffee and cocoa bean, damson and cassis, with waves of fresh acidity. Impressive and likely to be good value. 50% new oak.
