The Echezeaux is a masterpiece and confirms that Les Cruots has produced some magnificent wines in the 2015 vintage. The nose is an explosion of red berries and spicy minerality. The palate offer rich and lavish layers of ripe fruit – tremendous energy and depth in the fruit .. it’s fresh and very vibrant offering a nerve found only in the best 2015s. This is a unique wine that rivals the outstanding Echezeaux 2010 … I’m blown away and blessed to taste a wine like this. MAGNIFICENT JUICE! Jun 2016,
The 2015 Echézeaux Grand Cru has an ebullient bouquet with red cherries, raspberry coulis, rose petals and hints of creme de cassis, all tightly controlled and unfurling gradually in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine delineation, crisp acidity, very focused with shimmering mineralité on the long, sustained finish. This has a surfeit of panache and should give 20+ years of drinking pleasure. Dec 2016,, Drink: 2020-2045
(from a .6 ha parcel situated two-thirds in Cruots and the rest in Champs Traversin). A broad-ranging nose displays notes of anise, violet, lilac, Asian tea, purple fruit and plenty of spice nuances. The rich, concentrated and full-bodied flavors are finer than those of the Clos de Vougeot if somewhat less powerful, all wrapped in a seductively textured, balanced and ever so mildly austere finale. I really like the complexity here and this should age beautifully. Dec 2016,
