Average Score 96.3

A stunning, modern-styled version, with scintillating raspberry purée, plum confiture and blackberry reduction flavors gliding over velvety but copious tannins. Alluring warm ganache and fruitcake accents gild the finish, which sails on and on. Sep 2017, www.winespectator.com, Drink: 2020-2045
Shiny, full red robe. The nose mixes up smoke, black olives, sweet herbs, rosemary, has an intense core of black cherry with implicit oaking. The palate links well to the nose, comes with nimble black fruits, notably blueberry, good and established freshness, and lengthens well. It is showing as an ensemble already, may well close down. A note of lozenges, more ample content, comes through after the mid-point. The balance is good, and this has quiet complexity. Decanting required. 13.5°. 93% Syr, 7% Vio. Jun 2017, www.drinkrhone.com, Drink: 2021-2039
Sumptuous and gorgeous, glowing with health and vivacity. Leather toffee, if such a thing existed! Really impressive. The sample probably held up better because from the Côte Brune. Oct 2014, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2021-2040
A bigger, richer wine than the La Mouline, the 2013 Côte Rôtie La Turque offers full-bodied, layered and almost decadent notes of blackcurrants, chocolate, cassis and toasted spice. This beauty has building tannic grip, a layered, concentrated mid-palate and serious length—all pointing to a long, healthy life. Forget bottles for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades. Dec 2016, www.robertparker.com
(made with 50 percent whole clusters) Inky ruby. Bright, intensely perfumed aromas of red and blue fruits, Indian spices and potpourri are energized by a smoky mineral quality. Juicy, focused and pure, displaying deeply concentrated but lively boysenberry and cherry liqueur flavors, along with hints of candied flowers and five-spice powder. Echoes the floral and spicy notes on the strikingly long, penetrating finish, which features harmonious tannins and a hint of bitter chocolate. Jul 2017, www.vinous.com, Drink: 2023-2032
