Q: Where are your wines sourced from?
A: We strive to get as close to source as possible, either purchasing wines direct from the producer or through our network of trusted suppliers. We work with suppliers across the globe giving us unrivalled access to a huge diversity of wines: at any one time we have over 70,000+ discrete listings. Q: What is the difference between 'immediate' and 'marketplace' wines?
A: The vast majority of our listings are from our ‘marketplace’, meaning they would be coming from within our supplier network and subject to the 6-8 week lead time. We do, however, have a large number of immediately available wines, either through our private sellers or FINE+RARE’s own stockholdings. These can be organised for delivery immediately upon settlement of the invoice.
Q: Why is there a lead time on marketplace wines?
A: The vast majority of our listings are sourced from suppliers across the globe; giving us unparalleled access to a vast number of listings at any one time. We consolidate imports to keep prices low, handle the wines with care to avoid damage and condition-check them on arrival. This takes an average of 6-8 weeks, however, please note that we source from a wide range of suppliers and the lead time may be significantly lower depending on the current location of the wines. If you require your order faster than 6-8 weeks please speak to your Account Manager and they will be able to advise accordingly.
Q: Will I be contacted when my wines arrive?
A: Your personal Account Manager will be in touch upon arrival of your wines to organise for delivery, export or storage in line with your instructions.
Q: Do you have a retail store?
A: We don’t have a retail store - our current premises include an office based at London Monument and our storage Chamber at LCB’s Tilbury warehouse. We also have a local office based in Hong Kong. Q: Do you have a minimum order value?

Q: Do you do gifts, weddings etc?

Q: Can I store my wines with you?
A: Yes, you can; your wines will be held in our climate controlled HKQAA compliant chamber at London City Bond in Tilbury Docks, Essex in an account in your name, cared for by FINE+RARE trained staff. Q: Are my wines insured whilst in storage?

Q: What formats do you accept for storage?
A: We have an open doors policy for storage – from half bottles to imperials, we store both singles and cases, in bond or duty paid. Please note that we inspect the condition of wines upon arrival and reserve the right to reject items on the basis they are not suitable for storage (because of woodworm, leakage etc).
Q: How much does storage cost?
A: We charge £10.08 + VAT per annum per 12 bottle case or equivalent. Storage charges are pro rata for the amount of bottles and for length of time stored.
Q: How do I get my wines delivered?
A: We deliver to most countries over the world either through London City Bond courier service or through trusted third party shipping partners. Please click here for more detailed information.
Q: Are my wines insured following collection by your courier?

Q: Can I transfer wines to other bonded warehouses?
A: Yes. For bonded transfers within LCB there is a charge of £8 (ex VAT). For transfers outside of LCB, to other bonded warehouses within the UK, the cost is £16 (ex VAT) in line with our standard UK delivery fee. Q: What are current UK duty and VAT charges?
A: UK VAT is currently set at 20% UK duty rates are as follows: Still wine: 5.5-15% = £25.98 (ex VAT) per case (12) Sparkling wine: 8.5-15% = £33.27 (ex VAT) per case (12) Fortified wines: 15-22% = £34.63 (ex VAT) per case (12) Spirits: >22% = £28.74 (ex VAT) per Litre of pure alcohol.
Q: Is UK duty and VAT applicable if I am shipping within the EU?

Q: What cards can I use to pay my invoices?
A: We absorb normal card charges, meaning that all major debit and credit cards are accepted with no additional fee. AMEX is the exception to this and, whilst we do accept it, there is a 1.5% commission charge which represents the additional incremental charge they apply. Q: Were can I find copies of my outstanding invoices?
A: These may be sent via email on request by our customer services team. You can also see your outstanding balance by logging into your FINE+RARE account here.
Q: Where can I find my wine inventory and track which orders have arrived?
A: You can find an inventory of wines you have purchased with FINE+RARE online through your portfolio page – this also provides an indication of which orders have arrived and are in you storage account, as well as wines that you have had delivered home from FINE+RARE (though these can be removed from your portfolio if you wish). Through this page you can also place wines on sale and request delivery of your wines in storage.

Q: Can I sell my wines through FINE+RARE?
A: Yes, you can; we have a dedicated team, the Private Cellar Management department, who oversee our private sellers and actively look to market their wines and spot sales opportunities. Any wines which are placed on sale are stored free of charge (subject to the exception where they fall below ‘floor’).
