We are pleased to offer a parcel of the newly released 2014 Spottswoode Cabernet Sauvignon. The latest release from an estate on a tremendous run of form, this “is certainly one of the wines of the vintage” for Parker.
Parker has long been a fan of the estate and, interestingly for fans of New and Old world reds alike, compares their flagship Cabernet to that most elegant and ethereal of Bordeaux First Growths: “I always think of Spottswoode as the Chateau Margaux of Napa”. It’s a trait picked up by fellow critic Antonio Galloni, “there has been no arguing with the fragrant elegance” of their top wine.
Both rate this 2014 highly. For Galloni, who was “blown away” by Spottswoode’s 2014s it was “an impressive showing”, while Parker calls it “a sensational 2014” and with 96+ points hints that a higher score could be on the cards in the future.
