Armagnac Wines

France Armagnac.jpg

75 miles from Bordeaux in South West France, lies the region of Gascony, which produces the deeply flavoured and aromatic brandy, Armagnac. The process of ageing Armagnac in oak barrels is crucial to its flavour, and thus the benchmark of quality is based on the time spent in barrel: VS for under 3 years, VSOP for 4-9 years, Napoleon for 6-9 years and for very top Armagnac the label of XO, for in excess of 10 years.
