Pagodes de Cos (2nd wine of Cos d'Estournel)
Chateau Cos d Estournel is located in Saint Estephe. The plantings consist of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon on the gravelly soils, and 40% Merlot where limestone is dominant. Of the 91 hectares, only grapes from vines over 20 years old go into Cos d Estournel. The second wine is called Les Pagodes de Cos and the same team make Goulee from plots in the Medoc area. There is also a Cos d Estournel Blanc.
Cos d Estournel receives 18 months in oak barrels to mature, 80% of which are new. Les Pagodes de Cos has 12 months to mature, 50% of which are new.
